Our Mollinator is 4!
I know every mom says it as each year goes by, but I seriously can't believe that my baby is 4. It's exciting, fun, a tiny bit sad, and I love her more everyday. She is completely and totally different from her sisters. She loves to be funny, she is completely independent, she is a total clown, she can be shy, she's obsessed with Dora, and she can sing like no other. I love every little thing about her. She is my child that is hard to get mad at when she is naughty. She loves Jesus and asks the craziest and most amazing questions about Him. I'm so proud of the little girl she is. Here she is in all of her Dora glory on her birthday...
Dad's Birthday
We all got together to celebrate Dad by going Putt-Putt golfing and letting the littles ride horses. That's what daddio wanted to do. He's a great BigPa, don't ya think?! We had tons o' fun celebrating our awesome Dad/BigPa.

P's Birthday
Paul turned 36 way back in September. I'm a horrible blogging wife lately, so he got the blog shaft...and the picture shaft. I don't know how the whole day went by without a single picture. Sorry babe. I stink. Anyway...I basically couldn't be any more blessed. He's the best. And I love him and am so thankful for him. Love you babe. You don't look 36, but apparently, according to GC, I do. ;)

School Days
The beginning of a new school year is full of lots of mixed emotions for me. I love the excitement of a new year, especially since I work at a great school and with the best people, but I also hate leaving summer which is so full of Mommy/Girls time. It's so, so emotional to watch your babies grow up and I seriously cannot contain my tears. There's pride, love, nerves, and so many other feelings all wrapped up into one. I couldn't be a more proud Mommy. I've been given the greatest girls. They love school and are shining lights wherever they go.
"Don't let anyone think less of you because you are young. Be an example to all believers in what you say, in the way you live, in your love, your faith, and your purity." 1 Timothy 4:12
They are examples. That is a BIG reason we have them in public school. Will they encounter things that we could protect them from if I home schooled or put them in private school? Yes. Is God in control or am I? Duh. If you know me well, you know I have control issues. I like being in control. But I'm not. God is. He continues to show me that He is in control of everything. This includes my children. Do I trust in Him enough to protect them in every way? Yes. I have to.
"And we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them." Romans 8:28
Did I EVER plan on working before any of my children were in school? Nope. Do I follow my plans. Double nope. One of my most favorite quotes ever..."I now understand that being a Mother means that we make ourselves available to other children." On the hardest days (which often come at the beginning of a new school year) when I just want to be a full-time Mommy, I have to remember this. I treasure the kids that come through my classroom each year. They are also gifts to me. They teach and bless me. I want to be a light for them.
"Don't live any longer the way this world lives. Let your way of thinking be completely changed. Then you will be able to test what God wants for you. And you will agree that what he wants is right. His plan is good and pleasing and perfect." Romans 12:2
His plans ARE good, pleasing, and perfect. When I think back over the last few years I am AMAZED at the road that the Lord has led us down. There were bumps, ruts, and holes along the way, but did He bring us through? Yes. He never left...even when my faith shook. He held tightly to us. He gave my awesome husband the perfect job for him. He gave me a job that I love. He has taken care of our girls. He wants the best for them. His plan is perfect. I have to daily pray for stronger faith. I'm not always the best at having the right attitude, but I want what He wants. That means that I work and I do my work in the best way I can.
I have to stand on a soap-box for a minute. I have been blessed to be able to experience being a stay-at-home mommy and a working mommy. Both are hard work. BUT...I have to say that one does not make you a better mommy than the other. I'll leave it at that. Stepping down.
With all of that said...I am so thankful that my healthy, smart, beautiful daughters are loving school. Do I get teary on a daily basis because they are growing up so fast? Yes. Am I thankful that I get to watch them go through these milestones? Yep. Will I continue to be that slightly crazy mommy/teacher who spies on her daughters through their classroom windows during her conference time. Fo sho. I love them. I love my hubs. I love the Lord. And I love the life He has given us.

Again...God answered our prayers with Sydney's teacher. She is the perfect fit for Syd's personality and we are thankful for her!
It's always nice to have a friend in your class! Syd and Luke are good buddies! It might be a little scary that they're both a lot like their mamas. Keep a close eye on them Ms. Davis. :)
Yes...proof that this crazy mama/teacher sneaks pictures through the windows during the school day. Sidenote: I did this during my conference period. No 1st graders were left alone during this photography session. And I did not disrupt instruction. She was lining up. I promise.
