Our Sweet Molly is 3!

I can't even start to tell you how fast time has flown by.  Our baby girl turned 3 today!  Molly Joy has totally lived up to her name and is a complete JOY to us every day!  We had such a great day celebrating our not-so-baby girl today.  (She'll always be mama's baby.) I'll post more about that later, but I couldn't let the day go without writing about our girl.

My Sweet Molly Joy--
Mommy can't even begin to put into words how much I love you.  You are such a bright light in our lives.  You bring pure joy to us every single day.  You proved to Mommy that my heart could expand to love a third baby girl just as much as I loved your sisters.  There are so many things to love about you.  Here are just a few...
-You are truly hilarious.  You know exactly how to make us laugh.
-You love to sing.  You sing all of the time.  It's part of how you bring us joy.
-You love your big sisters so much.  They love you just the same.
-You're the perfect third daughter.  A great mix of snuggle bug, fearless independence, and "baby" all wrapped up into one.
-You love Dora, and all things Dora, with a great passion.  We know this is just a stage, but we love it.  :)
-You are stinking smart.  I know I shouldn't brag, but really.  You are genius.
-The best thing...you love Jesus so much.  Already you sing praises to Him each day, you talk to Him, and you learn more and more about Him all the time.  It's what we want for you the most...to grow up to love Him with all of your heart.  We can already see how He's using you in so many ways.

Mommy & Daddy love you so much sweet girl and we love watching you as you grow and learn.  You are a JOY to us and we are so thankful that you are our daughter and that God chose us to be your Mommy and Daddy.  How blessed are we?!

Happy 3rd Birthday my precious Mollinator...
Love,
Mommy

Weekend Wrap-Up

We've had a full, busy, fun weekend.  Friday night we headed to the Byron Nelson game to cheer on Nkere and the Bobcats.  They won and advanced to the playoffs, so it was a great night to be there!  The girls loved it!
Gracie Claire loves herself some football! :)
Cuteness never runs out in this family!
Oh how I love them!!!
Top = Bobcats Winning!
Bottom = Nkere in the black hat...very serious. :)

The next few pictures show us what a touchdown reaction might look like in our fam...
LOL! :)
Fun times! :)

Saturday we spent the day cleaning house, went to church and heard a great sermon about God being greater than impossibilities, and then the fam came over for pizza and a meeting about something that we're doing as a family.  More to come on that later!  (It's pretty exciting!) :)
 The Cutest Kids Ever! :)
The Whole Family

We were suppose to go to the airshow today, but that got canceled.  :(  So, we've been doing laundry and other chores and I took Molly out for a little bit of Mommy and Me time.  We ran errands and just loved being together.  We might have even bought a foam Rangers hand.  :)  While we were out, I could tell my sweet Mollster wasn't feeling so well.  Mommy instincts were right.  When we got home she was running a 101.5 fever.   My poor, sweet girl.  :(

I'm sad that our weekends fly by, but I'm looking forward to celebrating our sweet Molly's birthday next weekend!  I'm hoping she gets to feeling better ASAP!  Did you have a fab weekend?! :)

No Murphy No!

Gracie Claire wrote a book, inspired by Murphy, dog of one of our teachers, and David Shannon's book, "No David No!" Mrs. Pawski (mom of Murphy) recorded her reading it, with one of her best friends as her listening audience, and it was played at our assembly in front of the whole school! We are pretty proud of our awesome girl! :) There were, maybe, just a few tears.  She was so excited and proud and loved that she was able to be on the screen with her sweet friend!  One of those proud moments we won't ever forget!

Isabelle's Pumpkin Bash

Our sweetie niece Isabelle Cue is turning one this week and we celebrated her birthday on Saturday at a super fun pumpkin birthday bash.  There was a jump house, pizza, cake, pinata and the favorite activity...face painting.  The girls had a blast and we loved celebrating our sweet niece.
How cute is this 1 year old?! :)
Yay for cake!
All dressed up and ready to party!  We used dress-up clothes from our ginormous tub of goods.  Our Cowboys cheerleader, The Little Mermaid, and Super Girl look super cute don't you think?! :)

The girls loved getting their faces painted...
Love it!

PaPaw also joined in on the fun with a Sponge Bob Square Pants face.  Made me laugh out loud! :)
We had such a fun time celebrating our sweet niece/cousin!  We sure do love you Isabelle Cue! :)

God Is Greater Than Our Circumstances

Last weekend, our minister continued a series that he is doing called "Greater Than."  This particular sermon was called "God Is Greater Than Our Circumstances."  It was something I needed to hear.  Some of you know how I've struggled with being at work instead of being at home with my girls.  Well, isn't it amazing how God gives you what you need to hear right when you need to hear it?!  Click HERE if you'd like to hear it.  I highly recommend it for anyone who is struggling with why God is allowing the circumstances that make up our lives to happen.

Some of the things I wrote down...
(My thoughts are in blue.)

***We want a story with no difficult chapters.***
Who doesn't?  We're imperfect humans who don't want to go through anything that hurts, frustrates, or gives us anxiety.  But really, we all know that God allows us to go through difficult circumstances.  He is not the cause of them, but he allows them.

“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”  John 16:33

***We see that unexpected twists take the story where it needs to go.***
-See closed doors as divine detours.-
Oh man.  Have we ever seen this in our lives.  We have had so many unexpected twists in the last couple of years.  But they've always taken our story where it needs to go.  It's like God is saying to me every time something unexpected or unplanned happens, "Trust me.  I know it's not what you had planned, but I know what will happen.  I have plans for you.  Just trust me."
-God's edits are not for the purpose of making me happy.  The hard chapters are for the purpose of character development.-
This is hard to hear.  Does God want us to be happy?  I think he does, but His purpose for our lives is not for us to be happy.  It's for us to lean on Him and trust in Him even when things are hard.  Blaming God for the hard things in our lives is pointless.  He wants our trust and He deserves it.  Has my character been developed over the last couple of years?  Fo sho.  I know my faith has grown so much.  Not because of me, but because of Him.

"We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation."  Romans 5:3-4

***We ask God to give us the circumstances we want, but he's more interested in making us the people He wants.  We need to give God editorial control.***
Am I who He wants me to be?  I want to be.  I know I'm not even near perfect, but I really want to be His.  I want to be the child, wife, mommy, teacher, friend that He wants me to be.  That is going to involve me giving up control and trusting in Him with everything.  Will I like every single thing I go through?  Will I be happy all the time?  Nope.  But He is in control and that is what I need to hold on to.

***Stop trying to fit Jesus into my plans, because this story is not all about me.***
Whoa.  It's not all about me?  Sometimes I need someone to knock me over the head with that once in a while.  This life isn't about me, what I do, who I'm with, or where I'm going.  It's about Jesus.  Seriously need to plaster that on my wall.

"We have troubles all around us, but we are not defeated. We do not know what to do, but we do not give up the hope of living. We are persecuted, but God does not leave us. We are hurt sometimes, but we are not destroyed. We carry the death of Jesus in our own bodies so that the life of Jesus can also be seen in our bodies."  2 Corinthians 4:8-10

***Trust the author of my story.***
Boy howdy do I need to do this.  My faith is ever growing and always will be.  I am not in control.  He is.  It's fairly simple, but hard to remember.  But, man am I glad that He is in control.  How messed up would my life be if I was in control.  Pretty stinkin' messed up, yo.

Our minister ended this message by talking about Father Mychal Judge.  He was a Chaplain of the NYFD and the only priest to go into the twin towers to help.  There is a famous picture of his body being carried from Ground Zero after he died there.  He prayed a prayer that is so, so good and one that we should all pray daily...

"Lord, take me where you want me to go;  Let me meet who you want me to meet;  Tell me what you want me to say, and keep me out of your way."

Ummm...that's a hard prayer to pray.  Especially the part about keeping me out of the way.  Our faith needs to be completely in the Lord.  I need to be willing to walk the road He wants me to walk instead of trying to turn around or run the other way.  I need to stay out of the way.

God is so much greater than our circumstances.  He loves us.  So much.

Happy Birthday Daddio!

My dad celebrated his birthday on Sunday and, of course, we partied!  I'm so thankful for a dad who loves my brother, sister, and me so much!  He loves Paul, Sandra, and Nkere like they are his own and he is the best BigPa!  Not only does he love us, but he has taught us the love of the Lord!  He is the best dad!  I love him very much and am so blessed that he is my Daddio!  Now...party pictures!

How Was My Week, You Ask?

Well, let's go back to last Friday, shall we?  My sitter had called and said Sydney was wheezing.  She and Molly had both been coughing for a couple of days, with a little fever here and there, so I called the doctor and they got us in.  I rushed home after school, loaded the girls up, and headed to the pediatrician.  The diagnosis:  Sydney had bronchitis, along with three prescriptions, and Molly had strep.  Don't get jealous that your weekend didn't start out that way! ;)  So, we headed to the pharmacy and got home to begin our weekend full of this...

Sydney was not a fan of her breathing treatments.  Bribery might have taken place.
This is Molly with a fever and strep...you could say she's a pretty happy little lady. :)
Yes, I know she is four and still sucks her thumb.  Deal with it.  I couldn't leave out this adorable picture of my Sydster though.
Our week started out just a wee bit stressful as well.  Sunday night our babysitter was hospitalized with pneumonia, bless her heart!  So, I was scrambling to find a sub and write sub plans (which is one of my least favorite things to do) all while taking care of our two little sickies.

I can't leave out a picture of my big girl, who was so good the whole time!  She even had a little bit of a stressful day on Monday when she was at school without me.  Sweet girl!

A little snuggle time with Mommy...

and Daddy was had by all!
As usual, the Lord provided for us.  We were able to get someone to take care of the girls for the whole week.  Our sitter was out of the hospital and doing a lot better on Wednesday.  The girls have gotten so much better and are back to their normal, playful selves.  I wasted way too much time worrying and realized again how much I still have to grow.  So thankful for a God that never gets tired of us, even when we lack faith.

So, that was pretty much our week.  Sadly, I didn't get many pictures.

Coming soon...
